Zimbabwe: Dancer banned from performing at carnival

South African dancer Zodwa Wabantu was banned from performing at the 2017 Harare International Carnival in reaction to complaints of indecency.

South African dancer Zodwa Wabantu was banned from performing at the 2017 Harare International Carnival, scheduled from 1-10 September, as a reaction to complaints of indecent exposure alleged by Zimbabwean popular actress Anne Nhira, according to South African news source Times Live

On 29 August 2017, Nhira posted a letter on her Facebook page signed by Zimbabwe’s acting Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Patrick Zhuwao confirming the ban.
