A German-language film festival organised by Pink Life QueerFest Four and backed by the German embassy, scheduled to screen four LGBT-themed films on 16 and 17 November, was banned by Turkish authorities for security reasons, as they said event could provoke or trigger dangerous reactions, reported Deutsche Welle and BBC.

The festival, which was set to take place in Ankara, had already come under fire on social media before the ban.
