22 July 2021: Pussy Riot member Rita Flores was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest after being detained a day earlier for disobeying the request of the police, reported Meduza.

Flores was detained on 21 July 2021 when she was leaving her house to reportedly go to the detention centre to see Maria Alekhina, a Pussy Riot member who has been continuously sent to administrative arrest. According to Mediazona, Flores was charged under Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code for “disobeying the police”.

It is not the first time when Flores was sentenced to administrative arrest. Freemuse documented that in December 2020, Flores was sentenced by the Tverskoy District Court in Moscow to 20 days of administrative arrest for participating in a protest performance with artists Maria Alyokhina and Farkhad Israfilli-Gelman.

According to Freemuse’s State of Artistic Freedom 2021, Russian authorities were responsible for 90 percent of all violations of artistic freedom documented by Freemuse in 2020.
