Freemuse strongly urges the immediate release of cartoonist Ashraf Omar

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), along with 33 other organizations, issued a statement on September 9 condemning the recent arrests and enforced disappearances of four Egyptian journalists – Ashraf Omar, Khaled Mamdouh, Ramadan Gouida, and Yasser Abu Al-Ela. Freemuse, which is among the signatories, strongly urges the immediate release of cartoonist Ashraf Omar and highlights concerns about the broader implications for freedom of artistic expression.
