Music Freedom Day is a global celebration of the right to musical freedom of expression. Originally initiated by Freemuse in 2007, artists and organisations worldwide come together to host their own events in their own communities each year on 3 March.

The Freemuse Award is given to an individual or an organisation that has worked for musical freedom of expression in a remarkable way.

Since 1998, Freemuse has created and hosted several events and conferences on musical freedom of expression, censorship and artistic freedom.
