On 9 November 2020, Dr Srirak Plipat, Freemuse Executive Director, participated in the panel discussion during this year’s ICORN Digital Network Meeting.
The meeting gathered experts from the field to discuss the current situation of journalists, writers, and musicians around the world.
Dr Plipat focused his speech on emerging challenges of artistic freedom, based on Freemuse’s State of Artistic Freedom 2020 report. The meeting presented the opportunity to join Freemuse campaigns and actions and to address the root causes of freedom of artistic expression issues. Furthermore, Dr Plipat introduced Global Action Network (GAN) for Artistic Freedom as a way of protecting artists at risk from violations of artistic freedom before they are forced to leave their countries.
