Srirak Plipat
Executive Director
Previous to joining Freemuse as Executive Director, Dr Plipat was director for Asia Pacific at Transparency International where he managed TI’s strategy, research and advocacy programmes on transparency and accountability governance. As director of the International Mobilisation Programme at Amnesty International in London, Dr Plipat was responsible for AI’s mobilisation strategy, global human rights activist coordination, people engagement, youth activism, and operations and regional projects in over 15 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia. Dr Plipat advocated for regional human rights protection in Asia, having served as a member of the Working Group for the Establishment of the ASEAN Human Rights Mechanisms. He holds a PhD in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh.


Rikke Nagell
Freemuse Manager
Rikke Nagell has worked with culture and global issues for several years and has a solid background in cultural co-operation. Prior to joining Freemuse in 2005, Rikke worked as a project coordinator at The Danish Center for Culture and Development on the Images Festivals presenting contemporary art and culture with a global perspective. Rikke holds a Master of Arts degree in Contemporary Culture, a Master degree in African Studies and a Bachelor degree in theatre and film from the University of Copenhagen.


Magnus Ag
Senior Programme Officer
Magnus Ag is an international human rights and freedom of expression advocate. Prior to joining Freemuse in 2015, Magnus spent five years with the Committee to Protect Journalists in New York, most recently as the organisation’s Assistant Advocacy Director. He has previously worked in government for the Danish Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation, in journalism at the Danish news agency Ritzaus Bureau, and as a researcher on a book project about the Arctic. In 2007, Magnus developed the first social media strategy for the Mayor of Auckland in New Zealand. He has been a regular commentator for Radio 24syv in Denmark and has appeared in the Huffington Post, DR Orientering, Politiken and on Harvard University’s HPCR Blog. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Copenhagen.

Dwayne Mamo

Dwayne Mamo has been working internationally for over a decade as a journalist, communicator, project manager, and development and humanitarian worker, with extensive experience in the Caucasus, Middle Eastern, Central Asian and Eastern European regions. He has spent seven years with World Vision International in a variety of communications and advocacy roles focused on capacity building, responding to humanitarian crises and emergencies, and building better systems for emergency and field-based communication. Before joining Freemuse, Dwayne was CARE International’s Climate Change Communications Coordinator. Dwayne holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Creative Writing from Texas Tech University, and a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.


David Herrera
Programme Officer
David Y. Herrera has an extensive legal background, holding a Degree in International and European Law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and is currently studying a Master’s Programme in Global Politics at Malmö University. Having been a part of the music scene in the Middle East for several years, David has personally experienced the difficulties that artists endure in the region. David speaks six languages and has conducted many research projects focusing on particularly scarcely documented issues, such as outer space weapons, the legal framework in force in North Korea, the political conflict between Cuba and the USA, and the founding of the Nordic Council. He is also actively involved in the field of digital security.


Aicha Nouri
Programme Officer – MENA
Aicha Nouri is a human rights activist and the Secretary General of Ytto Foundation, which provides hosting and rehabilitation to women victims of violence. She is also a board member of the Moroccan Association of Parkour (AMP). Interested in cultural policies, she worked as a project manager at Racines’ association for cultural development in Morocco and Africa, where she conducted a survey on Moroccans’ cultural practices. She holds a masters degree in Cultural and Artistic Engineering, and a bachelor in cultural mediation from Hassan II University in Casablanca, Morocco.


Amjad Sohail
Programme Officer – South Asia
Amjad Sohail is a human rights activist. Apart from working with Freemuse, Amjad also works with Tehrik-e-Niswan (The Women’s Movement) in Pakistan. The organisation is a cultural action group working for the awareness of women’s rights and human rights through art, specifically theatre and dance. Amjad holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy, a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and is currently working on his PhD in “philosophy of the mind” at the University of Karachi.


Paige Collings
Student Assistant
Paige Collings has been working with public policy development and human rights advocacy for several years. Prior to joining Freemuse in 2016, Paige worked extensively at the British Parliament as a Policy Researcher for the Shadow Minister for Small Business and as a Communications Assistant for the Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons. She previously worked on campaigns to end female genital cutting and human rights abuses whilst at the international organization, Orchid Project; and was also a Researcher on an academic journal article examining the impact of think tanks on public policy formulation in the United Kingdom. Paige holds a First Class Bachelor of Science degree in Politics and History from Brunel University London, and is currently studying for a Master of Science degree in Political Science at the University of Copenhagen.


Mik Aidt
Web and Publications Consultant
Mik Aidt is a journalist and a musician. For more than two decades he was deeply involved in the field of world music, namely as a music editor at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation radio station DR P3 and as co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Danish Djembe Magazine, and also as a musician, a DJ, and director of the record company Mild Records. Former member of the board of Danish Center for Culture and Development.
