‘Impossible Music Session’ no 4
– Not appearing: Escuadrón Patriota
|Friday 10 June 2011 at 8:00 PM in Pfizer Auditorium in Brooklyn, New York, USA
In Cuba, hip-hop artists who uphold “revolutionary” doctrine are supported by the government’s Rap Agency. Those who don’t are barred from state-controlled media and subject to harassment by the authorities. They work underground and online, performing unofficial shows.
Escuadrón Patriota, a bold new voice in the underground, is the author of the YouTube sensation, “Decadencia.”
The music of Escuadrón will be interpreted by the Chicago-based emcee Miki Flow, who has roots in Alamar, and The Casualty Process, an electronic rock duo who left Iran for New York City in April 2011.
Escuadrón Patriota will participate live via phone.
Sponsored by Freemuse: The World Forum for Music and Censorship, New York Foundation for the Arts, and Brooklyn Experimental Media Center in partnership with Emcetrece Productions and Asho Productions.
